Developer Gary Gorman has approached the Oregon School District about purchasing the old Oregon High School and converting it to commerical office space for his company. He is seeking a TIF district to make this financially possible.
As schools scramble to make their facilities energy efficient and size appropriate, I see the conversion of older, historic, brick schools to private use to be a growing trend. This is a story to watch.
