In addition, the Board approved $20,000 for facilities planning expenses, some of which may be shared in a token way by the city and the Primtimers, since they may have an interest in the resulting use of the space of the current middle school. There has been a long standing discussion of the future use of the current middle school given the notion that it's efficiency as a school is limited and may have more effective future uses.

When I see statements like ' ap left hanging' it makes me wonder just how effective is the ' no child left behind program.' The school district spends alot of time and money on these types of testing, and I are they really doing any good? I only question this after the latest reports that show that even some school in our area are not meeting federal standards when it comes to NCLB. Evansville at last report was doing fine. Point being I think schools are going to do what they are going to do , regardless of testing, and look at all that money. That maybe could have gone for a program like the AP. Some testing is good, just not so intense. I think a good part of the responsibility falls on the parents to make sure their kids are learning and if not why not, and to make sure their kids get the help they need. When schools only test those they want to anyway, and leave out those who may bring down their average are we really getting a accurate picture?
