Watercooler: M&A; What differences to you see in store for Evansville in ten years? How do you propose to achieve that vision?

  1. I absolutely believe it is not the job of mayor or anyone on council to promote their own agenda. Maybe if they ran announcing their goals, and the ambitions are clear to everyone I could be persuaded differently. I do think it is the job of Mayor to lead away from stagnation. This is done through discovery of what interests our residents and facilitation. So I see in store for Evansville in ten years increased citizen participation in our community. I see increased two-way communication between city government and the citizens. I see camaraderie between our citizen groups and committees. I see an increase in citywide cooperation towards common goals. The term of Mayor is two years and in that time it may not be possible to achieve this vision in it's entirety. But I can certainly build some momentum. Success breeds success and the next term of Mayor will see the Main Street reconstruction project. By implementing, engaging, and showcasing the group effort required to pull off a successful rebuild, we will set a powerful stage and continued desire for bigger and better improvements. Be them tangible or intangible. Again, it's an exciting time!
