You may have followed this story. There have been funeral protests by folks who were anti-war at the grave site of the fallen. Finally, there has been a law passed limiting this type of protest.
As The Observer, this is certainly a relief. Not that I plan on dying soon, but just the dream of having some disgruntled person move from the "comment" section on the blog to the cemetary to make a final parting comment does concern me greatly. With this new law, it would appear that I can rest peacefully.

I share Fugo's concern (though personally knowing that my tax dollars went to the cause of costing the Kansas Wacko Church some of their tithe money would feel good) -- Constitutionality is the key issue. Same issue as the "right" of the KKK to march through Skokie.
ReplyDeleteAt the same time, if done properly, the Bill might pass muster as there is also a right to privacy that the Kansas Wackos have grown fond of violating. The fact that the Legislature is actually able to pass something without a party line split is a victory in of itself!
What kind of sick people protest at someone's funeral.???? People who don't have common sense, should not be worried about their right to free speech. The reason they were protesting is just plan ignorant. Sick people.
