Recently my mother and father-in-law came through Evansville on their way from Florida. They raved on and on about their new wireless laptop. Don then looked over the computer I use for the Evansville Observer, and said, "Man, that's a dinasour." "Wow," I thought, "here's a guy who is 80 who is hip and wireless. That's cool.
So, it is with some wonder that I have reveled in the recent political campaign in Evansville where I am considered "new fangled" for using that very same old dinasour computer and the Evansville Observer. Never mind that my old dinasour 89 Lincoln and my internet use date to the very same year.
In short---it's been a real jet wash. Being new, young, hip and new fangled in virtual space really has been nice, but then that's only when I am in Evansville. When I leave the city limits--------
So, the local election is all about new and old. And oh by the way, what is what? You make the call.
