Last night Todd Campbell was honored for his years of service to the Evansville School Board. As many of you know, he was the chair of the Policy committee. Board members teased him that he was welcome to come back anytime to participate. They would leave the light on for him. Todd did not specifically rule out the possibility.
Even Todd Campbell remarked on the significance of one of his last votes, the vote to keep alive the half day kindergarten. He said it was not just a $1000 for a year but really an investment of the $40,000 for the second year also. In voting for the removal of this program from the administration list of recommended cuts, Todd in his last vote strayed from administration recommendations----a rare occurence for him in his years on the board. Todd was noted for his style of negotiation prior to the final vote to reach a compromise. He recognized the importance of the final vote and joined Pierice, Phillips, Willouby and Larson on the vote to preserve the half-day kindergarten.
Congrats to Todd for the years of service.
