School Board Report

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT/PROGRESS ON LEARNING GOALS:
The 4K Investigative committee has met every month for the past year and a half. We have
researched the concept of pre-school, exploring both the advantages and disadvantages. We have visited
several sites where there are successful or beginning four year old Kindergartens. We have had a listening
session with the community. We had a forum for our committee members of experts from other districts.
We have met in smaller sub committees to answer questions about how it would look in the Evansville
Community School District. Now we are ready to pull together our information and develop a
recommendation. We hope to have this recommendation to the school board by their June 2006 meeting.
