The other night after a long bus ride, I had a fitful night of sleep.
I dreamt that I awoke from a sleep and looked in the mirror. I looked just terrible. All my hair was stark white. My beard was really rugged. I was suddenly terrified that I might have missed a city council meeting.
I quicly threw on some clothes. They seemed pretty rumpled. I know this is hard to believe. Just bear with me.
I rushed to city hall with my pad of paper. There must be a story. I had to break the news so the others had something to write. As I entered the City council chambers, I was a little confused. The floor was marble. I liked it though. And there were statues on the side of the council chambers of all the past mayors. I was surprised by this, but it was a nice touch.
In looking at the council agenda on the podium I noticed that the date on the meeting agenda was July 10, 2026. "Oh no.!" I exclaimed. I must have really overslept.
Then I let out a big, big sign of relief.
At the very bottom of the agenda, which is where all seasoned, or old reporters look first, I noticed in small print:
"Enforcement action: In the matter of Nonn. "
"Wow". Nothing has changed. I am in good shape.
Then I realized that this was eternal life. Where nothing changed.
Then I understood about he statues.

High snark, indeed. Not wrong. Just snarky.
