    Gina's article mentions flooded basements. To the best of my knowledge, no basements on S. 6th St. took in surface water during the rain event a few years ago. Did any surface water flood through openings in foundations (doors or windows) this time around?

    I know of one house that took in water in April during the flooding. I haven't seen much of them this month to know if they had difficulties again. Unfortunately the April 2007 event happened after they had finished their basement.

    For what its worth, the basement of our neighbors on E. Countryside Dr. has taken in water repeatedly during the past week, but it has been ground water, not surface water, and it has occurred because their sump pump did not function during electric service outages.

    I know of one basement that took in water last Tuesday night.
