Separating Fact from Fiction--- a true story

Recently my daughter came for a visit. She lives in California. When she gets in town, every person imaginable wants to visit with her. Face time is rare. Finally near the end of her vacation, she sat down for a cup of tea. She said:

"Dad, as much as you like your FICTION, I do think they should be in a separate category on the blog, kinda like the comics is in the newspaper. "

The concept was a surprise at first. I was shocked. What? Separate the fact and fiction. What a novel idea. I had to admit. She was right. So I did form a separate blog called "Tales from Normal." On the right side of The Observer.

Separating the fact from the fiction is a very essential part of life. It's essential in news. Essential in our community life. Essential in our national life. And yes.....essential in all criminal complaints. It is very important to have the facts fully and accurately reported. Otherwise, our legal process just becomes fiction. We cannot have that. Heavens. Competition in the writers almanac is already fierce enough!

So. The Observer is standing by. Thinking of possibly writing some fiction today. Hoping it will be competitive will all the other stories that are being published.
