Is building a new Elementary and Middle School one of the options? I think this would be a good idea because you could have schools on the East side of the town which would be easier and safer for kids to get to than having to go across town to the West side of town. This would be better because it would help maintain the small-town feeling of the schools and younger kids would not be as likely to feel lost. With smaller grades and smaller classes kids are more likely to know each other and make friends with each other rather than kids forming groups and cliques and others falling through the cracks in bigger schools. It would also give kids more opportunities for sports teams because each school would have a team and more kids would get a chance to play. That kind of competition and participation would benefit the town when these Middle Schooler’s get into High School and bring both numbers and experience to the table. Just look at the Janesville School district with the Craig-Parker rivalry and all the Middle Schools that compete with each other and then funnel into those two powerhouses. Although this would probably be the most expensive plan, Evansville is the fastest growing community in Rock County and a quick fix with a renovation and addition will only last us so long.
