Evansville Common Council Amends municipal code relative to Class "A" Liquor and Fermented Malt Beverage, Or; A short primer on "Class A" vs Class "A"

The Evansville Common Council approved on Tuesday night a modification of the Class "A" liquor license municipal code that limits the number of these licenses. The applicant, All and One, presented the case that they wanted to have the same opportunity to provide beer as the other service stations in town. They were not seeking a hard liquor license, but only beer. They cited their past history of running a business free of tobacco violations and also offered to limit outside signage regarding beer if that would be desired.

The Audioblogger covers the two types of licenses offered in Evansville as well as the presentation. The Council voted to approve the change in municipal code which had limited the number available.

Good job council you got it right, remember this nannies, beer is legal, drinking beer is legal, selling beer is legal. with some of the thought processes i have seen from some of the people here. We then should limit who can sell cold medication, sell coffee, and tobacco

You sure seem to put alot of thought in where you want to be able to buy your alcohol at, any thoughts on something important? From a post I read on here last week when someone mentioned that we don't need any more places for people to buy alcohol in this town, some one said ' thats not what this is for' Well yes it is. What else would it be for? There are restrictions on who can buy and sell cold medication and tobacco. I would like to congratulate the all n one though because they are the only place it town that has never been fined for selling to minors. Not with this current ownership.

They do limit on who can sell tobacco the same as alcohol really show me where I went through all the statues on tobacco sales and the talk was about the limit on signage, and minors nothing like the current liquor regulatinos. There is a license you need have to sell tobacco but not a limit on the number of licenses avaliable if i am wrong please let me know. I also do not need a license to sell OTC cold medication not including Sudafed so please let me know where i can find your "laws". Ms. Kaether this post is about Class A alcohol if you were not so interested in it a) do not read it and b) do not comment on it. Maybe your interests are not the same as mine you do not see me posting on health care issues and the like. Also the person from before was refering to bars in town not over the counter beer sales I suggest read a little more before writing. I hate the fact that people think more places to buy beer means more minors getting beer, come on I was 18 about 10 years ago if I wanted beer I would find beer even if i was in a desert. people who sell to minors should be fined simple.

I am kind of curious as to why bill finds this to be such a big deal. There are more important things in the world.
