Action Alert 1: Reject dangerous restrictions on doctors, officers Background: Last month, Wisconsin Representative Michael Schraa introduced LRB 2063, which he calls the "Firearms Freedom Act." The bill would ban physicians from asking patients about gun ownership; prohibit state and local law enforcement officials from enforcing federal firearms registration, or bans on assault-style rifles or high-capacity ammunition; and exempt state-made firearms from interstate commerce laws. It's based on a Montana bill -- now being challenged in the courts -- that was written by someone who wants to market his homemade "Montana Buckaroo" rifle to youngsters.
