Mailbag: Melissa Hammann Writes:

I thank the voters of the Evansville School District for electing me to the School Board from a worthy group of candidates. I am indebted to my supporters who urged me gently yet persistently, “Melissa, you should run for School Board!” I am grateful to Mindy Roys for feeding the kids on Board meeting nights over the last year. I appreciated the complete campaign coverage by the local media, including The Evansville Review and The Evansville Observer, which used considerable resources to accurately portray the candidates’ positions. Special thanks to Sceone Gard, Lisa Langer, Jackie Liebel, Jennifer Petruzello and their families for distributing my fliers. Finally, I am eternally grateful to my husband Bill, who quietly made sacrifices to support my decision to run for the School Board. I pledge to work hard and to do my best. I look forward to assuming my duties with the new Board as we continue to work toward providing the best education possible for our children while remaining mindful of taxpayer burden. –Melissa Hammann, Evansville School Board Member Elect.

PS-I’ll pick up my signs when it warms up a little. If they haven’t blown away, it will be easier to see them if they are still upright. It was nasty cold this morning and I had to stop after about 25 signs before I froze my heiny.
