Wednesday, October 5, 2011

Please take notice that the next meeting of the Evansville Police Commission will take place on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the Evansville Police Station, 10 West Church Street, Evansville, Wisconsin.

The agenda for the meeting is as follows:

1. Roll call

2. Approval of minutes of the May 18, 2011 Police Commission meeting

3. Citizen appearances

Chief’s report Scott:

4. Motion to formally accept resignation of full time officer Cristian Bennett who resigned effective October 10.

5. A. Motion to approve the appointment of Officer Jeremy Schmidt as a permanent part time officer for a period from October 15 through January 13, 2012. After the expiry of that period, provided he fulfills any necessary requirements for eligibility, his status will change to full time with full benefits. If approved by the Commission, Jeremy Schmidt’s one year probationary period will start October 15, 2011, Discussion (in closed session), and vote (in open session after closed session)

B. Motion to approve the no-cost sponsorship of Matthew McElroy in his attending the academy. Discussion on sponsoring Matt McElroy in the Law Enforcement Police Academy. Discussion (in closed session), and vote (in open session after closed session)

C. Motion for the Commission to convene in closed session pursuant to Wisconsin Statute Section 19.85(1)(c) in order to discuss confidential information regarding candidate proposed for appointment by the Chief to fill vacant position(s), discussion, and vote on motion.

D. Motion to leave closed session, discussion and vote on the motions.


E. Adjournment
