It will be interesting to see if anyone on the Plan Commission supports extending the minimum-house-size zoning provisions. I anticipate the developers and builders will argue that this is killing them, because houses in Evansville are not selling. Of course, houses in Evansville are not selling right now because the housing market nationwide is extremely slow, and Evansville is a bit off the beaten path. I hope our leaders will do the smart thing and extend these zoning provisions, but I fear they will get scared and not do so. It would disrupt the plan for successful subdivisions like Capstone Ridge if these provisions were not extended.
