Evansville Traditional Neighborhood/Residential Design Advisory Committee

Tuesday, August 29, 2006, 6:00 PM

City Hall, 31 S. Madison St., Evansville, WI

Minutes

Meeting called to order at 6:00 PM by Chairman, Mr. Bill Hammann. Present were Ms. Gwen Walker, Mr. Gil Skinner, Mr. Matt Brown, Mr. Tim Schwecke, Ms. Sharel Surles. Mr. Tony Wyse was not present.

Minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.

Approval of agenda.

Motion by Hammann and seconded by Brown to approve the minutes as printed. Motion passed.

Discussion relating to traditional neighborhood developments.

The committee discussed: larger homes on smaller lots, more amenities and higher value, unique designs and no cookie cutter designs.

Discussion relating to universal design.

All homes built after a certain date meet universal design guidelines (subset of architectural

design).

Design guidelines for residential structures should include: 1) universal design; 2) placement of garage; 3) anti-monotony; 4) architectural distinctiveness.

Discussion relating to snout houses.

Homes with garages placed predominantly in front of house.

Tour of TND projects.

The committee set Saturday, September 7, 2006 as a date to tour Middleton Hills TND project and Tuesday, September 26, 2006 as a date to tour Sun Prairie TND project.

Set next meeting date.

The next regular meeting of TND Committee was set for Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at 6:00 PM.

Motion to adjourn.

Mr. Bill Hammann motioned to adjourn and Mr. Gil Skinner seconded the motion.

Meeting adjourned at 7:10 PM
