Cap Times: Music: Closing of Independent music stores on State Street Continues

It sure would be nice if the new business model emerged....and soon. Other than the vinyl record business, I do not think the future of DVD,CD for movies or records looks good. Click on the post for the Cap times article on the closing of music stores on State street in Madison.

I wonder whether artists will directly release on the web as the model, bypassing the labels altogether.

The trend of theft of artistic creation has sure picked up pace. I expect that every author will eventually find his book has been copied in India and is available for free on a PDF file somewhere.

That being said...I mentioned to a pundit last night my concern, and he went ballistic that everything SHOULD be free. And yes....it has emerged that music, movies....books...and much, much more should be free.

Sounds pretty radical to me. And you?
