Click on the post for the latest from "Chasin."

It really doesn't matter who hosts a blog. What matters is the topic of discussion and allowing people to voice opinions. Anonymity helps to focus on the point of the post and makes it easier to judge the opinion on it's own merits. Of course some people just shoot the messenger anyway, but instead they should be correcting any mis-information , or contributing to the support of an opinion. Who's opinion it is doesn't really matter.

I too wonder who Chasin is...but then part of me will be sorry to find out. Because it's so hard to remove the messenger from the message.

Maybe any so called ' misinformtion' has not been corrected yet because you have not proved chasin wrong yet. Its your opinion that something is not right. But you have offered no facts either place to make me think this person is wrong. Only your opinion which you sign anon, so no one can call and ask you for more info, so don't complain. I think you are afraid that someone is not afraid to speak their mind. That someone is taking these very serious flaws in city gov to task.
Better get used to it. Show some facts. I was at the meeting and have no problem with what I have seen yet on Chasin site. I would have the xxxx to let this person know nicely, hey I think theres a problem and then explain why. Like I said I was at that meeting and agree with what I read. The people that posted tend to agree with what was wrote, and it sounds like they were at the meeting as well. Maybe you weren't .

To anon,, POST your name or give a contact no for how you can be reached then you can tell me exactly what was wrong. YOU have done nothing but hide behind anon. The meeting the other night was for land division, but that was not all that was discussed, and the post focuses more on the building permit issue. Mason brought up building permits and maybe the need for reform. HELL yes it does need reform. There is no good reason for MR.Probst to still be messing around with this. This lies with the city. YOU don't have to like that statement it is what it is. The post on Chasin was about building permits. HE was issued a building permit and now can't use it because not enough informtion was taken at the time. IF I am not mistaken and I am sure you will tell me, the pc can not approve land division. BUT at the city council meeting the very next night, they as well talked about this building permit, and the questions they had. YOU will not make me believe it does not have something to do with the fact they are afraid he will build a duplex, the pc showed they were nervous about that and so did the council.. YET its zoned duplex, kind of like UNION ST being zoned commericial. Duplex with Garage's is what I could see going in there. The post was about building permit reform and I am not wrong on that.

You are kind of making my point in that you are attacking me rather than my post. Not all anon posting are from the same person.
My post is all about the benefit of posting as anon, which you enjoy also as I don't believe there is a listing for "watchinevansville" in the phone book.(or chasin) I AM SUPPORTING YOU!

Again, not all anon postings are from the same person. So I guess we have illustrated the risk of mis-association anon posters take

I really mistook your post the wrong way, I hope that doesn't be telling of how my day is going to go. It very much is the intention to host a blog where be can freely post there opinions. Alot of what happens in this town is a matter of opinion and I am tired of only certain people being heard. I will post all reasonable things. If someone posts and says so and so robbed the bank, well that won't make it.

I will try to be the one to get this back on post. I personally H.C. has to go . She has shown time and time again she has no p.r. skills which really is damaging to the school board, she does not work well for them.

I agree she is going to push this to ref. She is kidding herself though is she thinks this is going to fly.

She is not focusing enough on the immediate needs of the school . The H.S. is cirriculum deficient.
The E.B.D. H.S. classroom is overflowing. ITs funny how in a normal classroom, with kids who learn normally, function normally they want to keep it under 20 students, thats great. But in a classroom where it is known these kids don't function, reason wise, like the rest of us, and have issues that interfere with their learning that classroom has 30+ kids. And one teacher. What is wrong with that picture???

  7. I have attended a handful of school board meetings and question if Heidi Carvin should go as well. It sure does seem like she is trying to break the budget.

As far as free daycare I think that needs clarification. I actually have a child that would enter 4K in several years and that would save me $0 dollars as far daycare expense. 4K isn't full time (I believe it would be 4 days a week and less than 8 hours, but the specifics aren't final if it is approved). So a working parent would have their child in daycare enough hours to not qualify for a reduced rate at most day centers. So parents wouldn't save money or would save very little money and the school would be spending additional money on the new program. It would be a terribly inefficent system to reach the handful of kids that don't make it into headstart and would benefit from being in headstart. Heidi has never provided any hard data as far as how many kids don't get into headstart that need help prior to Kindergarten (claims it is unknown, because people probably don't apply once the program is known to be full). I would think that the kindergarten teachers probably could give a better idea based on an estimate of how many kids struggle in their first year.

I have no problem spending tax money on kids that need extra help if their parents can't afford daycare prior to kindergarten, but targeting all 4 year olds to catch a small percent that need help is wasteful.

4K is a liberal attempt to, achieve more members into the Teacher's Union. It is an Agenda by crazy left-wingers.
