Roger Berg spoke at Planning Commission on October 1, 2007 to advocate major changes in the minimum housing size ordinance. He argued that this ordinance has hurt developers. He argued also that due to market changes, small homes are more popular because of energy concerns. Plan commission members reviewed some of the economic impact reasons for the ordinance and promised a full review next month after staff works up all the rational for the ordinance.

I guess the problem I see with smaller homes is they all look alike. The houses in country side , there are maybe 3 different styles of homes.. We looked at a couple down there that were for sale this summer. We were told who the different builders had been. After looking at several you had a good guess what certain homes were like with out ever going in.
ReplyDeleteI also question the quality of the building when they build small. But I guess big or small there can always be questions with that.
We quit looking in the Country Side area because we did not want a house like everyone else's we wanted something different.
The houses in country side they we looked at were o.k., nicely kept but just to much of the same.
