Evansville Planning Commission: New Development Plan would bust Smart Growth Plan;

Right after the issue of the Bar on Exchange Street had been decided in Planning Commission last night, the room cleared. Only a handful of folks remained.

Then, just as the Observer let down his guard to give the camera a little rest, a man approached the bench of the Planning Commission and indicated that his sister or mother were a little camera shy and he was standing in for them. In hushed tones like he was reciting a prayer, he discussed something with the planning commission.

I apologize. I have written posts previously that mention that when we see "Like a Prayer" motif, it is always a sign that something big is up. The two items that were being whispered about were Application 2007-13 and 2007-14 which would modify the interim Future Land Use Map from Agriculture to Walkable Neighborhood.

Right after Union Planning had decided in Town Board to deny the Shotliff application, and right after Evansville had denied Mr. Maas from having John Mourning develop his property ahead of the schedule of the Smart Growth Plan, we have another proposal to accelerate. So.

Stay alert. In the Heat of the Summer is when the modifications of the Smart Growth Plan are coming, and when you hear a prayerful gathering at city Hall.....assume the limits of the plan are about to be busted...or at least the attempt.
