In the recent state budget the big news was something that was not vetoed, namely the new undergraduate electrical engineering program planned for UW Rock. The Governor had originally proposed the program to begin in the fall of 2006, but the legislature moved the date up to this fall. Teachers from UW Plattville will be utilized to make this happen. Wonderful news for our area students who as I understand it had to go to Milwaukee School of Engineering or Plattville for this degree and face waiting lists to get in.
