School Budget Deficit Requires Preemptive Layoff Notice:
With all the unknown variables, and the looming deadline for layoff notice on March 1, schools that want to be fiscally prudent have to issue a preemptive notice of layoff to all their employees----At the recent meeting, the School Board in Evansville reviewed cuts of $17,000, when the deficit is over 1.5 million. Supr. Carvin said that she felt the deficit would be make up for by "attrition." The inference from this was that no layoffs would be necessary. That is fiction.
What leads you to believe that this is fiction? I am in no way disagreeing with you, I am just wondering if there has been talks about layoff at other SB meetings.
