Madison Entrepreneur Makes the Most out of Music and Business
Presentation is Aug. 11 at Inventors & Entrepreneurs Club
What happens when music incites passion, and then collides with business?
In the case of one Madison entrepreneur, it results in Tin Whisper Media Group.
Britton Rice will share the high notes and sharp transitions he faced starting two companies with little to no capital. He was a new college graduate in 2003 when he started music company Tin Whisper Media Group. For an encore, Rice took a detour by co-founding an online business, eXsellera.
Discover what happened to eXsellera, Tin Whisper and Rice at his presentation at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11. Rice is the guest the speaker at the Evansville Area Inventors & Entrepreneurs Club, which meets in the lower level of the Eager Economy Building, 7 E. Main St., Evansville.
By way of background, Rice is a Madison native and drummer with a degree in business management and political science. He also is the leader of the band Polydream, which, in 2007, was recognized as Best New Artist by Madison Area Music Awards. His presentation will include reflections on “the ever changing schematics of the music industry in general,” as well as insights on business models lacking capital.
The I&E Club meetings are free and open to the public. In addition to hanging out with a talented musician Aug. 11, participants will be able to enjoy refreshments sponsored by Jacob Clevenstine of Mass Mutual, a comprehensive financial services firm. Clevenstine specializes in helping middle income individuals and families safely plan for retirement and college savings while avoiding common, costly mistakes. Sponsorships like Clevenstine’s and donations support the non-dues-paying club.
