Madison Marathon Course "Closed" at 11am due to Extreme Heat

Extreme heat conditons that had a rising number of runners at the medical stations at the finish as well as rising numbers of incidents needing medical attention on the course caused race directors to close the course, or stop the timing, but continuing to have support personnel in place.

The Observer was on the scene this morning, and the rising number of sirens brought back memories of a Syttendae Mai race that got out of control years ago.
