I'd rather see a grand opening of a new business that was recruited to Evansville than this farse. To celebrate the digging of a hole does not justify the band playing and gigantic scissors being snipped. I would have preferred taking that money and building a new Guinness World Record ice cream sundae on the 4th of July.
That is a more practical Earth friendly proposition than destroying great wetland habitat so that when fireworks go boom, it looks real purdy.
