I agree with what Ald. Jacobson said. It seemed initially that this was a no brainer, with an existing building and next door proximity to city hall. I haven't looked at the details yet, but I wonder how the numbers can be validated in an existing building?

If the existing police station has worked for so many years, why the change? Sell the fire dept. building and use that money to build a "wanted" garage and some new siding.

    Good ol' Evansville.

They would have been just fine where they are for a couple more years. Evansville has always had 'keeping up with the Jone's ' and this is no different. They were the ones who wanted to move to where they currently are, how long before they feel the 'need' to move again. The price tag on this is ridiculous. Why has the police dept not saved any money like the E.M.S.? I would be very upset if I was Mary Beaver after how hard she had worked for the E.M.S. and then to have the city think they can just 'take' that money. This entire project stinks.
