Washington Post: Krauthammer:" Charlie Gibson's Gaffe"

Charlie asked a question he thought he knew the answer to....and then played professor. Problem. He did not know the answer. Click on the post.

First, Charlie Gibson is not running to be 2nd in line to 'push the button'. More importantly, since the moose-dresser IS running for that position, she needed to come across a little bit more informed than she did. I would have even been fine if she had simply said, "I'm sorry, Charlie, refresh my memory about the Bush Doctrine." At least then I would know that she was more interested in knowing the question before trying to convince the nation that she knew the answer. Anyone who saw that clip, and the long pause before her "In what respect, Charlie?" answer that was CLEARLY and escape maneuver, would know that she didn't have a single clue as to any of the so-called four Bush doctrines. (Nor do I trust Krauthammer's argument that there are four of them...Anyone vaguely familiar with the Bush/McCaine presidential disaster would have at LEAST been able to say, "Which one, Charlie?". If Webster's could pull it off, they should try to get a picture of Palin's long pause, so they could put that in their next edition as an example of what 'deer in the headlights' looks like. I don't want another person in the whitehouse that I would feel comfortable having a beer with; been there, done that, and along with the rest of the world, am now paying for it!
