Video: Common Council: 8-12-2008: Ben Answers the Question.
Common Council: 8-12-2008: Candidates for 4th Ward Alderman asked about knowledge of current issues: Ben answers the question
He said, if I am not mistaken, that he needed to learn more about it and wasn't committed one way or the other.
That other blog that Observer linked us to saying that the other guy was a "plant" was kind of ridiculaous given that neither of them answered their questinos any better than a girl at a beauty pageant.
When looking at the sides of the video it sure doesn not look like there were alot of people there.
This town is riddled with Monday mornoing quaterbacks. WHy that other blog who claims to lives in the 4th ward didn't put in for the job is the ultimate point. Doesn't want to do the work just wants to bitch about what other people have done. Don't like it then gfo in there and fix it.
Having talked with Ben myself- he is for the lake. Any one who has talked to him, can tell you that. But he has some different ideas. He grew up here and remembers the lake. So I think for 'the other' blog to even consider wanting him shows a lot on their part. Because they 'the other' blog and Ben do not see exactly eye to eye on the issue. But they know a plant when they see one. As for someone on running for a alder position. Having someone in that position needs to be someone who does not have their own agenda and can work for the people in their district. We have to many people who have their own agenda currently on the council and want what they want. That is not what they are there for. I think 'the other blog' has stated before that the reason they don't run is they have to many issues with the city the word they used was 'tainted'. We need people on there who do not have there own agenda as I stated, and someone who does not have pre-conceived notions of how the council works, or in this case does not work. So I believe its good that they know it would not be productive for them to run. But be careful what you wish for, I get the feeling we see anymore foolish spending or questionable city projects and they just may. At least I know they would fight like hell for the fourth district and that's what we need.
What was the answer?
