Plan: 8-6-2007 Roberts, Brooks speak
Both Diane Roberts and Jim Brooks opposed the accesible housing ordinance proposed. The ordinance failed to reach a vote on no second to motion.
What a shame, this could have been a good thing for the city. My in laws moved to verona because they found a nice place that was ADA accesible. They hated Prairie Meadows they thought the fixtures were cheap and it has other issues that just didn't measure up. I have worked in ADA compliance for a long time and this was a chance for the developers to use thier imagination and come up with an attractive affordable ada compliant home. Also by building an ADA home the builder would have become eliglible for certain federal advantages.
