The School District has got to get more serious about addressing the at risk students.

Last year when I enquired about the at risk program there was 1 part time person for 40+ kids..

Come on.. What are they thinking. There comment was well we are looking into hiring some one else part time. Come on not good enough.

Then there is the E.B.D. class room. Any one who knows and who has worked with Kim Janquint the E.B.D. teacher knows she is a ANGEL..

Some people are born for the career path they have taken in life and she is one of them.

She is excellent.. HOWEVER her case load is HUGE..... Last year she had around 35 kids who came to her for help on a daily basis.

Some times these kids are in 'crisis' and she deals with them one on one.

Kim has a Angel's Helper in Mrs. Sandra Hauri but with that many kids they are always going up hill.

NOW the school will tell you that these kids rotate in and out of her room all the time so there is not NORMALLY 35 kids in this room.

However this is a class designed for kids with special needs, E.B.D. issues so NOTHING is ever predictable.

Both these programs need serious help...

The drop out rate will continue to rise until the school takes this seriously.

I know Kim pretty well and she would never ask for help..

She is a Angel she gets to these kids in ways sometimes even there own parents can not.

But she and Mrs. Hauri are only TWO people..

They need to add another E.B.D. positon..

I know for a fact last year they tried to pushing some of these kids into the at risk program which is different than E.B.D.

Some of these kids never should have been put into the at risk program, they need more intense help such as the E.B.D program.

But it was the schools way of trying to not hire any more help.

IT WILL SHOW IN THERE DROP OUT RATE..

Kim and Mrs. Hauri make such a difference is these kids lives. IT goes beyond words.

IF YOU SEE Kim Janquint or Sandra Hauri give them a pat on the back or a hug because they have earned their wings.
