"Jazz Bar/Sports Bar to be in Economy Store
In addition to the excellent reporting done by Scoop 1 and Scoop2 last night, the Observer did confirm this morning that the Jazz/Sports bar will be going in the Economy Store. Residents of Franklin street are delighted. Stay tuned.
That is the perfect place place for it. We are sinking millions of tax payer dollars in to that building and the downtown, we need those empty store fronts filled or we will be paying for it if the TID fails!

Looks like this controversy was much ado about nothing.
ReplyDeleteI think anony is right both of them. The Economy store is the perfect spot. It helps us all.
ReplyDeleteIn order to get the liquor license you have to put down a address and I think it was always some what questionable if it would go there.
I think it was pretty clear to us that , that building was going to cost way to much to fix.
I mean come one even the city did not want to deal with it anymore.
Has anybody checked the zoning on the Economy Store? Is a tavern a use by right or a permissible conditional use?
ReplyDeleteThe economy store is zoned B1, which includes taverns.
ReplyDeleteCheck your codes people.
ReplyDeleteTaverns are ALWAYS a conditional use.
I wish you people would read the code before you comment.
