Planning Commission: Recommends Ordinance 2006-32 which provides for administrative review of minor site plan changes

The Evansville Planning Commission on Monday night reviewed Ordinance 2006-32 which provides for administrative approval by the City Planner of certain defined minor site plan amendments. The ordinance gives some examples:

"Examples of a minor deviation in most situations include, but are not limited to, a change to an outdoor lighting plan, landscaping plan, pedestrian flow and on-site parking. If the city planner authorizes a minor deviation, he shall document such decision in writing and submit it to the plan commission at it's next regularly scheduled meeting."

In the discussion, it was clear that this ordinance is intended to achieve some streamlining of process and efficiency and is not intended to be a power shift, but rather rather is intended to make working with the city more efficient for all parties.
