Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending a wedding at the Nineteenth Century Club in Oak Park, Illinois. I may have been through Oak Park many years ago, trying to find one of Frank Lloyd Wright's homes, but it was great to see the area again.
I visited the only way I ever do, by bus and then my personal cab or limo driver right to the address. No driving for me.
I stopped in the Ben and Jerry's nearby to get the feel of the neighboorhood. I had a single scoop cone, and did notice while eating it the sign that said "10" Pizza ----$30. I got the idea.
Right after the ceremony I called my cabbie and connected with the VanGalder and went right to Romano's for my favorite pepperoni pizza. It tasted great and I thought of the $30 sign as I paid my bill with pleasure.
Click on the post for a little history of the Nineteenth Century Club---some of which mirrors our own history in Evansville as pertains to the Suffrage movement. Enjoy.
