Monroe as leader of Virtual Schools and now Skate Parks. WOW.
OK I have been one to complain about the lack of commitment from our skate club. McFarland raised about 60K for their skate park, we cannot raise 5 does anyone else see a problem
ReplyDeleteGive it up, this skate park is going to be a fraction of the size of monroe or mcfarland or stoughton for as far as that goes. You want something to gripe about gripe about these people who want a dog park and think the county and city should ' give' them land.
ReplyDeleteThats where the real problem is.
I spoke with Mr.Connors a while back about this because I was disgusted by the complaints about these kids and people complaining about the kids wanting this skate park. From what I was told by Mr. Connors this ' dog' park is on hold more than it ever has been before, because the city has already told them NO to land they wanted off of water street, and the other land they were looking at their are issues as well. Nothing is going to happen anytime to soon with this, and as far as it being 'given' to them, that is yet to be decided.. I was pleased.
ReplyDeleteKids need to come before dogs. I am someone who has three dogs of my own and I have no issue with going to neighboring citys for my dog to play, plus I have a fenced in yard, where they play.
I hope the kids and parents of evansville skate club read the story and can get a clue on how you go about getting something done. you work your butt off, talk to people in the city and get donations do not just sit there with your hand open saying please
ReplyDeletethere was reasons why they said no to the land on water street. They did not just say NO, with no reasons. Mr.Connors and the gentleman who runs the site out their( I don't remember his name)
ReplyDeleteand I am not going to guess) both gave good reasons, very good reasons. And why should anyone just 'give' you something.
I think it is wrong for anony 1to have the attitude that since she did not get what she wants no one should.
ReplyDeleteanony i think is distorting a few things. The kids in the skate park have raised money , worked their' butts' off and have not just held their hand open looking for a free be. They will have the 5000 they agreed to before things are ready to go. That is what has been told the park board. It is the people who want the dog park, who have there hand out, expecting something for nothing. And the people who most want the dog park are adults, but they are looking for something for nothing.
