Gov. Doyle/ Dot Chief Spar over alledged DOT budget Crisis; DOT unhappy with tax revenue transfer to schools

Governor Doyle has disputed the notion that the DOT is in any type of budget crisis. As you may remember, the governor had resucued Wisconsin schools last budget year by transferring DOT sales tax revenue to schools. The DOT is still unhappy about that.

The Observer sees the attack by the DOT as really just the opening shot against of what will be further and larger transfers from the DOT sales tax revenue. It is coming.
