City(Mayoral and Aldermen) Watercooler: What is the biggest problem facing Evansville today and--how do you solve it?
I acknowledge mine is a short sighted view, but nonetheless my choice for biggest problem facing Evansville is the current three-way intersection at J. Lindemann Dr and Highway 14. I choose this because of it's life-threatening nature. My sincerely belief is it is a question of "when" not "if" someone will get hurt. Our society abhors putting a price on human life or health and I am no exception. So until this dangerous situation is abated, in my mind it takes precedence over the cost of property tax or Main Street Reconstruction. The good news is we are working on it. The desire is for a four-way intersection and there is a meeting planned for early April with the DOT to further discuss our plans.
