something that i would like to see addressed at a park board meeting sometime is the policy's of the swimming pool. I was their with my friend this last summer, her kids were both of a age they could be there by themselves, but we chose to sit on the inside of the gate in one of the chairs to watch the kids. Only to be told by a lifeguard that we had to go sit on the outside because we had street clothes on and its a sanitation issue. HELLO, there was a man in cut off short swimming with his kids in the pool. So street clothes are not allowed in the pool area, only in the pool. We talked with the aquatic dir. and it was pretty clear he had never been approached on this before and he tried to tell me that it was a state law that you could not have street clothes in the pool area, but no law about street clothes in the pool. I called the health dept and she said ' bull' there is no state law about either one. My point being is this guy seemed to want to make up the rules as he went along. We did point this out to Mr.Connors who agreed and did talk to the dir. about it, that something just did not seem right. I would like to see very clearly written rules, not one rule for some people and one rule for others depending on their mood that day.
ReplyDeleteif you need more info. just let me know I can always call you. Also on one of their brochures they state it as being a state law, which is incorrect according to the lady at the health dept.
ReplyDeleteI would agree that at times the rules at the pool seem to only apply to some people or certain kids. They need to be more consistant.
ReplyDeleteI'd still like to know why we must remain by the fence line if we wear street clothes. How do they define street attire? My swimsuit is designed to be comfortable both in the water or walking into the grocery store. It's a two piece, tank top and short bottom. The store I purchased it from advertised it this way. Where do I get to stand? Half way between the fence and pool?
ReplyDeleteAfter speaking with Bill Connors last year, he spoke with the dir. and they kind of reversed them selves, street clothes are now allowed ' on deck' ' pool side' from what I was told. It made no sense at all that you could wear cut offs in the pool, as this man had, but not pool side. It was like huh??
