City Planning Commission approves Electronic Sign for Associated Bank--requires it to be part of monument sign

The Evansville Planning Commission on Tuesday night approved the use of an electronic sign for the new Associated Bank, and although an amendment to restrict hours of display failed, voted to restrict the electronic display to one that is part of a monument sign. It would be digital, and have a classy historical look to it.

This would only apply to B4, which is the zone on the far eastern approach to Evansville and not the Citgo(b3) or the downtown (B2).

The electronic display would be black and white and not color, and not have movement which might be distracting but be text which could be changed every two minutes.

  1. I think as the city grows the planning commission is going to have to make more and more allowance's like this. It is going to be a beautiful building, a beautiful new building and they should be allowed to have MODERN things included that help promote business.
