Classics Computer repair and dry cleaning comes to Evansville

Several of the bloggers on this site have told me good things about the "computer dude" at Classics Computer recently opened in Evansville.

Click on the post for the new blog of Classics Computer. Check out the types of services they offer. If you stop in, tell them that The Observer sent you.

  1. I can admit when I have been taken.
I am someone who shops out of town often, mostly to save money. However our computer was sick, very sick. Which was disgusting because its not even a year old yet. So into best buy we went, right away they wanted to sell us the 186.00 plan. OUCH!!! I told him, No its spyware and maybe a virus, most of these things in your ' plan' don't even apply to the problems we are seeing with our computer. I will stick with the spyware removal and systems operation check, and handed over 113.00 dollars. Which I did not think was such a bad deal at the time. They told me it would be done in two days 'tops'. After checking with them on the second day and being told we could pick it up at 9p.m., NO Thank YOu. We went in on the third day after 10:30 a.m., and it still was not done. I was ticked. Then we got it home to have it work no better than when we took it in. So by chance I called Tony at Classics , talked with him about the problems and what he told us was the only way to 'really' get rid of spyware is to reformat, wipe the hard drive clean and start over. He told us it would be like buying a new computer off the shelf when we got it back. Not only did he give us a excellent price, he had done the next morning, and it works great!!!!! He (Tony) was honest, and explained everything, and was timely. As for best buy, I have not finished argueing with them yet. What they don't tell you in there verbage, or explain to you is just exactly what Tony explained sometimes the spyware removal programs do not work. Tony at Classics will get all our computer work from now on and I encourage others to check him out. Very nice, honest, man.
I will say this does not change my opinion about the piggly wiggly, way to expensive, even for staying in town. They also lack decent customer service.

  2. I think I should warn people as well that if you go online there are quite a few complaints regarding Best Buy and there GEEK squad. I only found the site after our situation.
